The drive to Moray is in itself spectacular, traveling over rough roads in sparsely inhabited countryside. There is access from Urubamba or from Chinchero but the most popular way is to combine a visit with the market at Chinchero.

Moray consists of three areas thought to be used by the Incas as open-air crop laboratories.

They are called locally "greenhouses".

As you take the path down to the "coliseums" you can feel the change in the climate.

Combine the scenic drive and the unusualness of the site with Chinchero market and it is an interesting untrammeled half day excursion.
