The M/Y Tucano has three decks:
- OBSERVATION DECK - top deck with Sun Deck and Shade Canopy
- UPPER DECK - four cabins, air-conditioned Salon-Living Room and front balcony
- MAIN DECK - 4 cabinbs, Boarding Hall, Stern Balcony
The M/Y Tucano was built entirely new and completed in September 1997. Though the decorative theme is that of a 19th Century river steamer, the M/Y Tucano is a modern and efficient passenger vessel. The decks in the cabins and living room are a deep brown natural finished wood that is kept highly polished. There are 76 large windows on Tucano and all of them open and close.
All of the 9 cabins on Tucano are outside cabins with large windows and private bathrooms. Each cabin is air-conditioned with its own thermostat. All of the cabins are comfortable and all have private baths.
All of the walls in the cabins have solid wood raised paneling, varnished and lovely. While not large, the cabins are quite spacious for a small ship.
The Salon is at the front of the boat affording splendid views of the rainforest throughout the day. The Salon is also air-conditioned, though in the cool of the day we generally leave the windows open to breathe the fresh air scented by Amazon blossoms.
