ABOUT PARQUE FUTANGUE - in their own words:

A New Destination between Pucon and Puerto Varas

Get ready for a journey through breathtaking natural landscapes, covered by vast expanses of pristine forests and majestic mountains, venture among beautiful lakes, turquoise waterfalls, and spectacular lava fields. This remote and once impenetrable land now has a network of exclusive hiking trails, allowing visitors to enjoy nature like nowhere else in Patagonia.

FUTANGUE is a private nature reserve in the Chilean Northern Patagonia among the foothills of the Andes Mountains in the Los Ríos Region. The park is on the shores of one of Chile´s largest and most beautiful lakes - Lake Ranco, and is near to Puyehue National Park, with it´s stunning volcanic scenery. The area is also known for having some of the best-preserved examples of the Valdivian rainforest, one of the most important biodiversity hotspots on the planet.

WHY PARQUE FUTANGUE?

PRIVATE RESERVE:

We have a network of over 100 km. / 70 mi. of carefully designed trails, where hikers can explore the wilderness on countless excursions for all levels. The park covers an area of more than 13,500 hectares, surrounded by beautiful mountains and native forests, hundreds of years old.

FANTASTIC VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES

Futangue Park is the ideal destination for all kinds of outdoor experiences: hiking, fly fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, snowshoeing, nature photography, bathing in hot springs, and visiting local villages are just some of them. Get ready for the adventure that suits you best.

FAR FROM THE CROWDS

Futangue is a family-run conservation project, recently opened for tourists. The park has controlled access, and there are no campsites in the protected areas or large groups from local tourism agencies crowding the trails, ensuring quiet and peaceful hikes.

GOOD CONNECTIVITY

A flight from Santiago to Osorno airport is only an hour and a half, and the drive to the nature reserve takes the same amount of time. It’s a stunning journey from any of the airports close to the park entrance on excellent asphalt roads virtually all the way except for the last mile, which is on a good gravel road. It’s also possible to take a flight to the airports in Puerto Montt or Valdivia and then a transfer to the park.

UNSPOILED ENVIRONMENT

Futangue’s native forests have remained native and untouched. The pristine ecosystem hosts an incredible biodiversity of flora, fauna, and fungi, with many local species from this corner of South America, making the park the perfect playground for nature enthusiasts

CONSERVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY

We are committed to the conservation of the natural heritage by giving access to people to the wonders of our region, constantly collaborating with environmental education, academic research, and our local community, encouraging them to be part of a sustainable tourism development.
