The "Guanavenas Pousada" Jungle Lodge is located on Silves Island in Canacari Lake, the second biggest fresh lake in Brasil. The island used to be a refuge of the Guanavenas Indians who were wiped out in the XVII century. | ||
| The Lodge has a total of 46 rooms in 3 buildings and 22 "cabanas", each with three beds, air-conditioning and private bathroom with shower. |

| There is a restaurant specializing in regional cuisine, two swimming pools, a game room and a 90 foot tall observation tower. | |||

| Getting there is part of the experience. You can charter a small plane for a one hour flight over the jungle to Silves Island or you can go overland - a three hour ride by air-conditioned motorcoach followed by one and a half hours by motorlaunch up the Urubu River to Canacari Lake and Silves Island. |

The Lodge offers a variety of jungle excursions to experience the magic and mystery of the largest tropical forest and the biggest volume of fresh water on the planet. You can go piranha fishing, hiking in the forest, visit "Igapos" (flooded jungle) and the local inhabitants "caboclos" (houses) and by night you can go "alligator flashing". All excursions are lead by a bilingual experienced guide. | ||
