On a whim, before her high school senior year, Annie
became an exchange student to Panama. That summer in Panama was her epiphany....out went medicine and in came her passion
for anything to do with Latin America! After high school she spent the summer in Panama and Colombia, on to
college, and a degree in Political Science followed, again by travels in Panama and Colombia and on to
graduate work at Georgetown University in Latin American Studies.
She then went on to Colombia and became a professor of English as a foreign language and US
History at the Universidad the Antioquia before returning to the US. After a very brief
stint as a teacher of English as a foreign Language at Barry University, again on a
whim to change directions, she joined LADATCO in 1973. And as the saying goes, the rest is
history...
Annie's forte is Central America, having traveled extensively in the region over the years. She
has also traveled through most of South America and is able to speak about Guatemala or Chile with equal passion.
Her duties include day to day sales for independent individual or group travel, be it for
Central or South America, as well as development of the Central America product
line.
Annie is a past recipient of the "Amigo de Costa Rica" awarded by the Ministry
of Tourism of Costa Rica. She has been
a member of SATA (South and Central America Travel Association), having served as
treasurer, vice-president and president. She has also been a speaker for SATA at their
educational trade shows and developed an educational seminar for TREX,Travel Exchange for Central America.
