ISLANDS Cape Bougainvilla On the north coast of East Falkland, accessible by all weather track, one and a half hours drive from Stanley, lies Cape Bougainvilla, one of the Falkland's best kept secrets. Getting to Cape Bougainvilla is 3 hours from Stanley, the last being off road cross-country. Along the majestic, Cape Bougainville coastline of white sand beaches and rocky outcrops, with an abundance of wildlife concentrated on a small point and no more than a couple of minutes walk. It is home to Rockhopper and one or two Macaroni Penguins, King Cormorants, a small number of sea lions, Upland and Kelp Goose plus amny other species of smaller birds. There is also a resident pair of Cassin's Falcon. |
