MINITREKKING OVER PERITO MORENO
GLACIER & PASSARELS:
Description: Departure from Puerto de Bahía Bajo la Sombra we
will embark and after a 15 minutes navigation appreciating the South wall of the glacier
we will arrive at the other shore where specialised guides will be waiting to take us to
the heart of the glacier.
Mini trekking over the glacier take around 2 hours and is made with special shoes
(called grampones). We will come back to a refuge at lunch time (Picnic Gourmet included).
We will walk back to the pier & embark. We will continue driving other 7 km
and we will reach the Canal de los Témpanos and will begin an easy walk through the
forest close to the shore in order to have a look to the Northern wall of the glacier. We
will be delighted by the view the Glacier offer us.
Duration: full day
Difficulty: Medium. Children below 10 are not allowed. This tour is not recommended for
guests that have walking, heart or breathing difficulties.
Remarks: boats or trekking shoes are highly recommended. Warm clothing, gloves, Sun
glasses, solar protection.

PASSARELS PERITO MORENO GLACIER & MORENO FIESTA:
Description: escorted by Los Sauces Site Host we will drive
along provincial route # 11 to Los Glaciares National park. After driving 40 kilometres we
will border the Brazo Rico of the Lago Argentino. During the whole drive we will see the
changes on the landscape from the Patagónic steppe to the Andean woods. Arrival at Canal
de los Témpanos we will walk to the passarels (4 Km), from where we will have a
panoramic view in front of the Perito Moreno glacier. Transfer to the pier where we will
border an embarkation to navigate Canal de los Témpanos of Lago Argentino, over the right
margin of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

4X4 EXPERIENCE
Description: exclusive trip that will take us to the Patagonic
steppe aboard Land Rover Defender vehicles guided by high well experienced drivers.
Departure from Los Sauces Casa Patagónica, we will begin ascending the hills
that surrounds El Calafate arriving at the first view point where guests will enjoy a
panoramic view of El Calafate and the Lago Argentino. Perhaps guests will have the chance
to see a condor as well ! We will continue ascending up to Laberinto de Piedras (Stone
labyrinth), which was formed during the cretaceous period and has 85 millions years old
approximately. Marine fossils can be found in this area. From there, we will descend until
Piedra de los Sombreros, were drinks will be served. We will continue descending to the
north face of Huyliche, always having imposing views to the lago Argentino.

Remarks: total drive 35 kilometers. Thermic and warm clothing are strongly recommended.

TREKKING
#1 TREK:
Description: Departure from Los Sauces Casa Patagónica we will walk along the “Paseo
de la Costa” which borders the Bahía Redonda from the Lago Argentino. During this
walk we will have the chance to watch the local fauna that live near the coast. We will
walk for 2 Km until we arrive at the Club Andino.
Duration: 1 hour
Difficulty: Low.
Remarks: Comfortable walking shoes, photo camera and binoculars are recommended.

#2 TREK:
Description: Departure from Los Sauces Casa Patagónica we will pass through El Calafate
stream up to the Municipal Reserve Laguna Nimez. (1 kilometer). We will walk through the
internal paths of the reserve up to arriving at Lago Argentino beach. During this walk we
will be able to observe different ambiances, local birds, swans, flamingos anD ducks.
Duration: 3 hours
Difficulty: Low.
Remarks: Comfortable walking shoes, photo camera, binoculars and insect repellent are
recommended.

#3 TREK
Description: Departure from Los Sauces Casa Patagónica we will pass through El Calafate
downtown up to the base of Calafate Hill. From there, we will begin ascending the south
face bordering the Calafate stream. From the top of the hill we will have panoramic views
of Lago Argentino and if weather allows we will have the chance to see the Fitz Roy Hill.
Also, we will be able to see several marine fossils.
Duration: 8 hours
Difficulty: High.

MOUNTAIN
BIKE
#1 BIKE TOUR:
Description: Departure from Los Sauces Casa Patagónica we will pass through the
provincial route # 11. We will arrive at Estancia 25 de Mayo, where the Walicho Caves are
located. In this place we will have the chance to see cave paintings and the cave where
the Perito Moreno found a mummy that it is now preserved at the Natural Science Museum in
Plata (Buenos Aires province).
Duration: 4 hours

#2 BIKE TOUR:
Description: Departure from Los Sauces Casa Patagónica we will pass through the coast
walk in direction to Punta Soberana. The way has soft up & downs. In the middle of the
way we will have an important view of the “Isla Solitaria”, lonely island which
is the only one on the lake. Upon arrival at Punta Soberana we will have a complete view
of the Andes Cordillera and the entrance of the Brazo Norte of Lago Argentino. Punta
Soberana is one of the most windy places in the whole Patagonia Argentina.

HORSEBACK
RIDING
#1 HORSEBACK RIDE:
Description: Departure from Los Sauces Casa Patagónica we will cross the Bahia Redonda up
to Punta Soberana. From there, we will have a complete view of the Andes Cordillera and
the Lago Argentino. Local fauna can be seen such as flamingos, swans, herons, gulls, and
other patagonic birds. It is interested to see the local flora as well, low and dry
vegetation adapted to the local weather conditions, such as the coirón, mata negra,
neneo, mata gris, paramela, calafate and different local flowers. Tour includes Gourmet
Picnic and the possibility to taste out authentic “mate with tortas fritas”, our
typical drinks with a kind of sweet fried pies.

RIDE:
Description: During this trip we will feel the pure Patagonia without limits combined by
the immensity of the steppe, the fabulous views to the Lake Argentino, the hills that
surround it. Enjoy horseback riding surrounded by this unique landscape …you will
feel freedom during this unforgettable experience!!
We will arrive at Wualicho caves, bordering the shore of Lago Argentino and
passing through the Laguna Nimez. Hotel Site Host will tell us the history of the first
Indians settlements , their legends and how do they live. It is interested to see the
local fauna and flora which varies during the horseback ride. Tour includes a Gourmet
Picnic.
