IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Morgans Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge is more than just a hotel. It is a unique and natural haven for the true traveler who is looking for a touch of luxury while enjoying the adventure and excitement of an exotic and tropical destination. But most importantly, it is a project of nature conservation, community development and reforestation offering Agro- and Ecotourism at its best. Morgans Rock Hacienda & Ecolodge is part of a 1,000-hectare reforestation project and an 800-hectare private nature reserve which is actually one of the last, large natural sanctuaries along the Pacific Coast of Central America. The conservation of this area is crucial for maintaining the habitat of the animals living in this region. During the past five years, almost 1.5 million trees (both hardwood and fruit), have been planted in these lands, hoping to return them back to the ecosystem they once used to be. These reforested lands, together with the nature reserve and the estuary, host a variety of forest animals such as howler monkeys, sloths, white tipped deer and many birds native to the subtropical region. The beach is a nesting ground for giant sea turtles and during your stay, this entire property is yours to enjoy and explore with our guides. LOCATION |

BUNGALOWS
All fifteen bungalows face west, letting you revere dramatic sunsets disappear into the
Pacific Ocean. The surrounding forest adds indispensable privacy and peace to each unit.
Most bungalows sit on a cliff overlooking the private bay and estuary. While they have
been soundly designed to offer shelter from rain, sun or wind, each bungalow breathes
nature. Some may have a tree growing out through the roof but all enjoy an indoor beach
garden hosting your own private outdoor shower.
All bungalows feature one king size bed, a comfortable sofa bed and a private deck. The architect has carefully used mainly local materials and the wooden furniture was custom made by local artisans. Even the quaint lamps have been made out of recycled wood from a former cattle ranch at Morgans Rock! The bungalows are connected to the main lodge by an awesome 100-meter suspension bridge crossing a forested canyon.
WHAT TO DO AT MORGAN'S ROCK:
All guided tours at Hacienda Morgans Rock support local community members and help
the conservation of the forest and the acquisition of more land to be conserved and
reforested. Your interest in Nicaraguas nature, culture and the reforestation and
organic agriculture at the Hacienda help to spread the word about sustainable development
and train more locals. Tours at Hacienda Morgans Rock take place in the
privileged setting of the Hacienda that entails various ecosystems such as primary
tropical dry forest, secondary forest, hardwood plantations, pastures, untouched beaches
and hills overlooking volcanoes, Lake Nicaragua and the Pacific Ocean.
