The Marina Copan is located in the
heart of the town of Copan Ruinas, overlooking the Central Plaza and just 1/2 mile
from the ruins. It was named in honor of Dona Marina Welchez, and built on the site of her family home in 1945. Today it iis a modern hotel but jealously guards the town's colonial architectural heritage. There are 40 rooms and suites, each with air-conditioning and cable TV. There is a restaurant poolside, specializing in local cuisine, and a bar with live music on the weekends. The hotel has a small gym and a sauna in addition to the swimming pool.
