About Activities from Las Cascadas Lodge - in their own words:

White Water Rafting
Trip Time - 4 hrs
Along the way, you will travel east along the Pico Bonito National Park. Once you have passed the zip lock, you will see the spectacular 700-foot waterfall. Hang on as you round "Moeby" through the class III and IV rapids, which are some of the best and most exhilarating in the whole of Central America. You will finish pumped with adrenaline at the "Horseshoe" before returning back to the lodge.
You will be rafting with some of the best rafting guides in the world; all guides are first aid certified.

Mountain Biking
Trip Time - 3 to 4 hrs
You will snake your way from the Valley of Rio Viejo down the mountain following the Rio Cangrejal passing through several small towns along the way. At El Pital and Las Mangos, there are several opportunities to take a trial off road for the adventurous of you or, if you wish to enjoy the scenery at a more sedate pace, you can continue along taking the time to see some of the spectacular rock formations as well as the 700-foot Pico Bonito waterfall.

Beach Horseback Riding
Trip Time - 6 hrs
This horseback riding excursion features deserted beaches and traditional farmland. You will be taken to a horse and cattle farm to select your horse that range from timid for beginners to lively for the more advanced riders. At the Rio Bonito river mouth, you will cross the river for lunch on the beach and take a swim before returning to the Lodge.   Horseback riding in the mountains is also available.

Mountain Scenic Tour
Trip Time - 4 hrs
You will travel by air conditioned mini bus up the mountain through several small villages where you will experience a tast of the local lifestyles as well as the breathtaking views. A stop will be made at a women’s sewing co-operative to look at their handicrafts and have a typical Honduran lunch. This mountain ranch is nestled on the opposite side of the river, which you will cross in a “canasta”. The return trip to the Lodge will take you past the 700 foot Pico Bonito waterfall.

Cocoa Lagoon Trip
Trip Time - 4 hrs
Located 24km east of La Ceiba, this small ocean-side lagoon is totally surrounded by mangrove forests. A variety of tropical birds, howler monkeys and white face monkeys inhabit the area and the local village makes its living from plantations of sugar cane and cocoa (chocolate). You will travel through the lagoon in either a kayak or a handmade dugout canoe. After the scenic ride, you will lunch on the beach with a beautiful view of Cayos Cochinos (Hog Islands) situated just 15km from shore.

A Day at the Beach
Trip Time - 4 hrs
You will leave the Lodge in the morning, and after a 20 minute journey heading west, you will arrive at one of our participating resorts located right on a pristine beach of white sand and crystal clear water where you can enjoy sunbathing, swimming in the tranquil seas or just simply watching the seabirds fishing and flying by. Included in the price is a full “typical” meal, including beverages after which it is time to relax in hammocks while the cool afternoon breezes gently whisper around you.
For a nominal fee, you can book a complete body massage by a certified masseuse.

Canopy Zipline Tour
Trip Time - 2.5-3 hrs
You will be fitted with state-of-the-art rappelling equipment and given thorough instruction along with a practice run. Once on the first platform, the adventure begins with an exhilarating whiz across Rio Cangrejal. The zip line course has a total of 8 high wires that whisk you from tree to tree, traversing the jungle canopy all the while accompanied and assisted by professional guides. Your safety is first priority and at all times, you will be clipped to either the zip line or the guide wires on the platform. The platforms are sturdy and spacious providing you with the opportunity to truly enjoy the views and the surreal experience in the upper echelon of the jungle.
