Opened in 1988, it has 40 rooms in individual bungalows, each with a mini-bar, ceiling fan and balcony offering views of the lagoon.

There is a restaurant, bar and a swimming pool.  There are nature trails and bicycling, horseback riding and canoeing are available. 

The Villa Maya is only 20 minutes from the entrance to Tikal.
