WELCOME TO THE WORLD'S GREATEST SAILFISHING - in their own words:

VIAVENTURE SPORTFISHING invites serious anglers to experience what we feel is a virtually undiscovered gem in the sportfishing world – Guatemala's Pacific Coast. Guatemala is recognized internationally as having the world’s highest concentrations of sailfish. The unique swirling of ocean currents between Mexico and El Salvador create a naturally occurring eddy rich in bait and pelagic fish where billfish including sailfish & marlin, as well as dorado, yellowfin tuna and more gather to feed.

It is not unusual for one of our boats to release 25 sailfish in one day, with the average daily sailfish release rate per boat between 15 and 20 sailfish. The world record for the most sailfish released in one day was set here by our very own Captain Hook in year 2000, with 75!

Our billfishing packages are designed for optimum results and supreme comfort - from the moment you step off the plane until the moment you leave Guatemala. With our safe, professional, VIP service and the Pacific Ocean's generous offering of big game sailfish opportunity, you are just about guaranteed one of the finest fishing experiences of your life.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Stay at Villas del Pacifico all-inclusive resort hotel, with all meals included and an open bar on all national drinks (beer and rum based drinks). Or stay at one of our carefully selected private homes, fully staffed with maid and chef, open bar on national drinks (a predetermined amount of alcohol will be allotted each day), A/C and swimming pool.

Anglers are invited to bring their catch of the day back for the chef to prepare for the group  - this does not apply to billfish which we release without exception.

FLEET AND GENERAL INFORMATION: Our fleet of modern fishing boats comes fully equipped and stocked - ballyhoo filled bait coolers fully prepped by your crew; beer and soda stocked ice-chests; lunch and snacks on board; attentive crews constantly working with you, taking care of your rig, giving hints and local tricks to help you land the biggest game fish; highly experienced captains to guide you to the best fising grounds, using advanced manuevering tactics to help you land more fish; etc, etc. You can rest assured that all of your fishing needs are being taken care of.

All boats in our fleet are equipped with state-of-the-art navigational equipment, high-quality tackle and bait, and professional crews. Guests are virtually guaranteed to catch sailfish on any given day - and are likely to catch many.

Our fleet is equipped with high quality Penn International and Shimano tackle for conventional or spin fishing. In addition to conventional tackle, fly-rod users have had great success with Sailfish and Marlin in the waters off Guatemala. Frequently we see 5 or 6 sailfish released in a day by one boat from a fly-rod, and recently one of our boats hauled in a 225 pound Marlin while fly-fishing!     NOTE: We kindly request that fly fishing anglers bring their own tackle with them.

We practice 100% catch and release of all billfish and use only circle hooks - which are more effective and less harmful to the fish.

WHEN TO COME: Sailfishing in Guatemala is great year-round, with truly exceptional fishing from late-October through June. Do not hesitate to contact us for Info about current sailfishing conditions in Guatemala.

WEATHER: During the dry season (mid October to Mid May) the weather on the Pacific Coast of Guatemala is sunny and warm all day. During the rainy season (mid May to mid October) it's typically sunny in the morning with seasonal late-afternoon showers. The temperature averages in the 80's year-round during the day, typically with cooler nights. The seas are usually very calm. Contact us for information about current weather and sea conditions in Guatemala.

TAKING FISH HOME: We release all billfish without exception, but will gladly freeze up to 15 pounds of other type fillets per angler to take home. If you wish to do so, please bring a small cooler and a roll of duct tape.
