blankspace.gif (49 bytes)In its January 1998 issue, Rodale's Scuba Diving Magazine rates Galapagos among the top ten diving destinations and top five big animal dives in the Indo-Pacific region.

Twenty-three percent of the underwater life is endemic to the islands

About dives: A normal diving itinerary consists of dives together with land visits to the islands, offering the unique opportunity of experiencing and comparing. Normally there are two to three dives a day but at certain sites like Roca Redonda or the northernmost islands of  Wolf and Darwin there might be up to 4 dives a day. Night dives are also included provided conditions are good.

All dives are made from a dinghy ("panga" in the islands) and are accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable Dive Masters to enhance the educational experience and to watch out for safety.

About equipment:

The Lammer Law provides:

*Scuba tanks
*Weights and weight belts

Special Note:

Diving in the Galapagos is reocmmended for exprienced divers only. Most of the good diving sites have strong currents, surge and cold waters.
