SCUBA DIVING Scuba Diving the second largest barrier reef in the world is not to be missed. Cayo Espanto is within 15-20 minutes of some of the world's bet and most famous dive sites. Private trips are easily arranged. A full day dive trip to the Blue Hole can be arranged, departing 8AM and returning 6PM, either on a private basis or with a group from San Pedro. Cayo Espanto's Dive Master, German Alamilla, is available for private charter and also leads regular open diving and snorkeling trips. To guarantee diving with German, advance arrangements are suggested. |

| SNORKELING Snorkeling in Hol Chan, Belize's National Marine Park, has been named by USA Today one of the world's top ten snorkeling sites. Private charters to Hol Chan are available or you can join a group from San Pedro. Glass bottom boat excursions are also available from San Pedro. |

FLY FISHING Fly fishing is always a favorite activity for guests of Cayo Espanto who have their own equipment. Because hundreds of bonefish have made their home around Cayo Espanto, the angler will usually find great success all around the island. The hard sea-bottom immediately around the island provides for unusually easy wading. In addition to wading around the island, you can hire a guide and boat for some wonderful flats fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit. Click here for more detailed information on Bonefishing in Belize. You can also go Reef fishing (Snapper, grouper, Jack) and Deep Sea Fishing (Bill fish, Wahoo, Tuna, Kingfish). |
||
| BOATING Another favorite trip is a day with boat and guide for some fishing, snorkeling and conching (in season). After a morning of fishing and conching, your guide will grill your catch for you on a beach. After lunch, it's back to the water for some great snorkeling, all out fun and relaxing. You can choose to visit other islands, some deserted and some with islands. |

| EXPLORING If you just want to go exploring in a skiff (Cayo Espanto's name for a 21-ft Mexican-made), one of the island's staff can take you out. The trip is always an adventure and full of unpredictability. Deserted beaches, uninhabited islands, beautiful waters and an occasional dolphin can make your trip very memorable. BIRDWATCHING On nearby Cayo Rosario and Bird Cayeis an experience for all. These islands are very close to Cayo Espanto and are home to many types of birds - spoonbill, pelican, frigates to name several. The adventure allows you to walk around and through mangrove. This tour is highlighted by the Belize Audobon Society. |
