Where is Arashá located?
Arashá is located about two and a half hours away from Quito, Ecuador. It is in the Northwest part of the country, west of the Andean Mountain range.How do guests arrive at Arashá?
Arashá is very easily reached by car from Quito. Simply take the Via "Mitad del Mundo", Calacalí - La Independencia and a very well paved highway takes you from the Andes to the Tropical Forest in a little over two hours.What is the altitude at Arashá?
We are at 541 meters equivalent to 1,774 feet above sea level.What is the climate like at Arashá?
The temperature ranges between 68º F and 84º (lower figure at night) with about 80% relative humidity. Can you possibly ask for anything better ?What is the best season to visit Arashá ?
Because Ecuador is located on the equator, there are not great fluctuations in the climate, thus making the tropical forest, in which Arasha is located, a great destination year round.Do you have a problem with mosquitoes at Arashá , and should I bring repellent?
In general, the answer is no. Arashá is in an ideal location because it is in a transition area between the cloud forest and the rain forest. In this area there is a plant called "Floripondio" that naturally repels mosquitoes. Drainage of the property is excellent. Many of our guests, however, bring or get at the resort mosquito repellent to use in their walks at the rivers, creeks and jungle.What is the cuisine like at Arashá?
Arashá offers over 30 plates in our menu, both National and International dishes, as well as special dishes such as vegetarian and gluten free. In addition, We have a large wine selection and a fully stocked bar with tropical drinks and cocktails.What kind of activities can we do during our stay at Arashá?
There are a wide variety of tours and activities available to our guests at the resort centering on health and wellness, as well as eco-education and amusement. The tours, both guided and unguided, include bird watching, a nocturnal tour in the jungle with torches, a primary jungle tour of Macallares Forest, as well as tours of the rivers, waterfalls and lagoons among others. In addition, we also offer tours outside the resort where guests can learn about some of the native cultures of Ecuador.
Some of our other group activities include our chocolate & handcrafts workshops, tropical flower bouquets, an exotic organic plantation and forest tours, flowers & natural juices tour, and nightly movies in our theater. We also have an 18-hole mini golf course, fishing in our private lake, a beautiful Spa with excellent trained personnel and a Concert Hall which doubles as a game room.How difficult are the tours at Arashá?
