Cuzco-Machu Picchu - in the words of PeruRail:

PeruRail invites you to step aboard the "Hiram Bingham" the new luxuary train service that runs from Poroy Station to Machu Picchu in 3 and a half hours. This new service with its distinctive blue and glod livery and elegant interior upholstery in warm, inviting tones, consists of 4 cars - 2 dining cars, a bar car and a kitchen car.

Departuring from Poroy Station (20 mins form Cusco centre) at 09h00, the Hiram Bingham gives a more leisurely star to the day than traditional departures. Brunch is served on board and guides are present to explain points of interest on route, as well as in the Ruins at Machu Picchu on arrival at the ancient citadel.

An afternoon tea is served in the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge located just steps from the entrance to the Ruins, and once back on board for the 18h30 departure, pre-dinner cockatils are served, accompanied by live entertainment, and afterwards a 4 course, a la carte dinner is presented in the dining cars.

Taking the Hiram Bingham service means you can focus your attention and energy on what matters most, content in the knowledge that the logistical details of the day's trip have been taken care of by peruRail: included in the price of the ticket are the onboard meals with wine, entertainment, guides bus transfers, entrance to the Ruins and afternoon tea.

Among the many superb design features of the coaches are the large, comfortable seats and extra wide tables. Nearly 3 metres longer and 30 cm wider than others on the same route, these coaches are among the most spacious and comfortable in the world.

PeruRail provides a booklet with information on Hiram Bingham and on the journey, and a personalized menu.
