The "Real"
Sunset Beach Tour
We leave Tango Mar at approximately 2:00 p.m. in a
four-wheel drive. We will travel along country roads to the rugged and wild beaches of Mal
Pais and go on to San Miguel Wildlife Station. Mal Pais with its usually large waves is an
excellent location for surfing. This area with its white sand beaches, also offers some of
the greatest spots for snorkeling. The sunsets here are spectacular and some of the
most beautiful in Costa Rica.
Tango Mar's
Super Tour
This is a combination of several exciting tours … First you will be
able to walk through and enjoy Curu Private Reserve. After that we go on to Tortuga
Island, one of the most picturesque in Costa Rica, with a beautiful white sand beach.
At approximately 8:00 a.m. we will board our boat in Bahia
Ballena. You will enjoy a relaxing cruise and watch the sea birds and possibly jumping
fish while we cruise out of the Bay on our way to Curu Nature Reserve. You may also see
dolphins, whales and sea turtles along the way. We will land on the beach of Curu Reserve,
which is a working farm and has been operated by the same Costa Rican family for many
generations. Here you will be able to hike and explore some of the parks amazing flora and
fauna. There is a large variety of wild animals and many monkeys that live here in their
natural habitat and which coexist with the plantations and the cattle farms.
Then, we board the boat again, pass a shipwreck and a
magnificent rock archway carved by nature. Once we get to the Tortuga island, you can
snorkel and see lots of coral, a large variety of tropical fish, oysters and octopus. The
flora and fauna here is stunning and is nature at its best! You can enjoy a stroll along
the gorgeous white sand beaches and be able to rent kayaks and other water sport
equipment. Following our Tortuga tour, we move on to the Pochote Mangrove. We will enter
the river and you will be able to sit down and relax. You will be able to see and listen
to the sounds of the jungle and see some of the hundreds of types of birds and animals
which have made this mangrove their home for many centuries. We recommend this tour very
highly for those interested in true ecology.
Sunset Bird
Watching on the Pochote Mangrove Tour
At 4 p.m. our boat will pick you up from Beach and enter the river at
Pochote. You will be able to see and to listen to some of the hundreds of types of birds
including Blue Herons and Kingfishers. While our boat drifts downstream you will
experience the sights and sounds of a real mangrove estuary. We'll be entering the bay
once again and head to Hart's beach for a sunset cruise across the bay. The sunset
here on the Pacific is a very special experience.
Horseback Riding
Resort Riding (1-2 hours): This trip is
great for children, beginners and people who prefer a short ride. You lead the horseback
riding wherever you want on the Tango Mar property and enjoy the flora and fauna of the
Tango Mar Resort.
Whale Bay & Tambor (3-4 hours): You
leave at approximately 8:30 a.m. from our stables. You ride along beaches and jungle
trails and enjoy some great scenery and wildlife. This ride is suitable for all ages and
all experience levels. You can make a stop in Tambor Village and enjoy a cool refreshment.
Montezuma (3-4 hours): You leave at
approximately 8:30 a.m. from our stables (depending on the tide). Most of this ride is
along the beach and some of it is through the jungle. This tour offers you some of the
world's best beach riding. You will ride through the Montezuma Absolute Reserve and will
be able to make several stops along the way.
Jungle Waterfall (4-5 hours): You leave at
approximately 8:30 a.m. from our stables and will ride through jungle forests, cross
rivers and valleys. You can take a refreshing swim in a natural waterfall pool. On the way
back you will pass Panica Valley, Tambor and the Whale Bay Trail and can make a stop in
Tambor for some refreshments. This is a tour that you will not soon forget !!

Montezuma
Waterfall by Boat Tour
At approximately 8:00 a.m. we will board our boat in Bahia Ballena. You
will enjoy a 25 minute relaxing cruise along the Pacific Coast, observing the different
beaches before entering Montezuma Bay. You may see dolphins, whales and sea turtles along
the way. At the village of Montezuma our guide will take you on a 30 minute hike
through Primary Jungle until you reach the waterfalls where you will be able to take a
refreshing dip in a natural pool. After this long hike you will be able to enjoy some of
the local scenery and try some of the watering holes. Note: This tour leaves only if it's
low tide. Ask at the front desk.
Coastal
Sportfishing Charter Tour
This half day sport fishing tour takes place aboard a 20 ft. 85HP fishing
boat and takes about 5 hours. Right off Cabo Blanco you will fish for Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna
and Mackerel and will have a good chance of seeing sea turtles, dolphins, huge rays as
well as whales (during January and February). If you bring your catch back home, we'll be
happy to cook your favorite fish. Sun protection, sunglasses and a hat "a

Montezuma Canopy
Adventure!
The tour leaves from Tango Mar at 8:00am. At 8:45am you will get to
Montezuma Village, then our driver will lead you to the first of 11 platforms, nine
cables, for you to experience a unforgettable adventure, take a look at the unique
wildlife & birds up in the trees. There is a so much nature to see and enjoy, and a
great adventure, also!. The tour includes transportation and the canopy fee.
Tango Mar
Romantic Experience - Sunset Champagne Cruise
We offer a romantic sunset champagne cruise which is ideal for
honeymooners or for just about anyone in a romantic mood ! Our captain will sail you
along the beaches of Tambor and Bahia Ballena and while you sit back and relax , serve you
an ice-cold bottle of sparkling champagne with some exquisite hors d'oeuvres. Close your
eyes and listen to the sounds of a real mangrove estuary with its exuberant wildlife while
our boat drifts downstream. After enjoying the champagne, you enter the bay once
again for a memorable sunset cruise.
The Beaches of
the Nicoya Peninsula Tour
We will leave Tango Mar at approximately 8:00 a.m. by four-wheel drive and
will use the dirt roads to get to Play Manzanillo. We will pass the towns of San Martin,
Playa del Carmen and some other beautiful beaches along the way and end up at the Mal Pais
Caverns. In San Martin we will find an almost white beach and will use some time to
explore the beaches and find a few spots for swimming and snorkeling. Play del Carmen will
welcome our surfers with some huge waves.
Tortuga Island -
Snorkeling Adventure Tour
At approximately 7:30 a.m. we will board our boat in Bahia Ballena. You
will enjoy a relaxing cruise and watch the sea birds and jumping fish while we cruise out
of the Bay on our way to Tortuga Island. You may see dolphins, whales and sea turtles

Curu Biological
Reserve
We will leave Tango Mar at approximately 8:00 a.m. and use a four-wheel
drive to visit the Curu Biological Reserve. This private resort is owned by a Costarican
family which will guide us through some of the primary and secondary forest and explain
the flora and fauna of the region. On the way to the reserve we will pause in Tambor
(right) and Valle Azul which are some typical small towns of the Nicoya Peninsula and take
in some of the day-to-day life of the villagers. Curu Biological Reserve is a
privately owned reserve, maintained in its natural state, with selected trails to wildlife
viewing areas and a private beach
Curu Adventure
Tour by Boat
This tour is a must for nature lovers. First, you will sail out from
Tambor Beach. Our captain will take you along the beautiful coastline of Bahia Ballena
(Whale Bay), where you will see breathtaking cliffs and ancient caves. Pay attention to
the alligator shape of these mountains. You might even see some whales, dolphins and
turtles on your way to Curu. On your way back from CURU you will stop by the sunken
steamer "BANANA EXPRESS". This former German steamer is an ideal spot for
snorkeling. You will be able to see some magnificent tropical fish and other water
creatures. THE CURU RESERVE is a working farm and is operated by the same Costa Rican
family for many generations. In CURU you will be able to hike and explore some of its
amazing flora and fauna. There is a large variety of wild animals that live there in their
