LOCATION: 
Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort is 150 kilometers from San Jose, Costa Rica’s capital, on the road that connects La Fortuna to Lake Arenal, in the country’s northern zone. Deluxe Premium Room:
Our elegant and comfortable Deluxe Premium rooms seamlessly blend indoor luxury with an outdoor terrace, which includes an area overlooking the native tropical landscape. Bathroom includes a spacious Jacuzzi and a separate glass-enclosed shower. The furniture is handmade by Costa Rican artisans. The Deluxe Premium have a king size bed with a view of the forest.

Superior Premium Room:
Tropical sounds and colors of the rainforest will be part of your experience during your stay in our superior premium rooms. Amplitude and comfort is offered in these bedrooms. A sofa bed is also available for relaxation. Superior premium has a king sized bed. The furniture is handmade by Costa Rica artisans.

Hotel Pool Area and Jacuzzi:
The Hotel features a quiet swimming pool and outside Jacuzzi filled with thermal mineral water, the perfect place to enjoy the natural surroundings of the property: the rainforest and volcano.

Café Britt Stores:
Find a wide selection of souvenirs, costume jewelry and traditional Costa Rican products in any of the three gift shops located at the Resort.

Internal Transportation:
Tabacón offers a continuous complimentary shuttle between the hotel and the resort’s hot springs. To request this service, please contact the front desk.

RESTAURANTS & BARS:

Ave del Paraíso Restaurant:
Featuring lovely views of the main waterfall and our lush tropical gardens, Ave del Paraíso is located in the resort’s hot springs and garden area. Some tables offer direct volcano views. The restaurant is designed to accommodate large group lunches and dinners, and also for guests seeking a more informal setting.

Our extensive lunch menu features salads, sandwiches and light entrees. Fruit juices and milk shakes complement our Fusion style cuisine, and are perfect for the mid-day meal. Our renowned tropical cocktails are available from the main bar.

Ave del Paraiso also offers a Spa Menu, a selection of light meals for those with appetite for lighter fare.

Dinners are served buffet style. While our salad, pasta and dessert bars are staples in the evening service, main courses vary according to the day’s theme. Daily selections always feature at least three main courses, hot and cold side dishes and grilled selections. Native Costa Rican ingredients, which typically include white or yellow rice, black beans, yucca (cassava), plantain, chayote (local squash), hearts of palm, pejibaye and many other local favorites, combined with international ingredients are an integral part of our recipes.

Los Tucanes Restaurant:
Los Tucanes offers first-class dining in a relaxed setting. Located on the hotel grounds, with spectacular volcano views and bordered by the rainforest, this welcoming and intimate restaurant serves a tropical breakfast buffet and á la carte dinners. Live music provides a lively yet cozy atmosphere, complemented by the sounds of water flowing into the hot springs pools.

The delicious Los Tucanes breakfast buffet supplies the freshest tropical fruit, omelets made to order, along with traditional Costa Rican dishes and U.S.-style breakfast fare, all accompanied by freshly-made tropical drinks and Costa Rica’s best coffee.

Guests at Los Tucanes have the opportunity to dine on the best of international, gourmet and Costa Rican cuisine. We also offer vegetarian options and a lighter-fare menu. Kids will find something to their liking on our children’s menu and everyone will enjoy something sweet from our large array of desserts.

Romantic Gala Dinner:
One of Tabacón’s signature services is a candlelight dinner, sure to be a memorable experience for couples sharing a romantic vacation. Perfect for honeymoons or anniversaries, or just to share a loving occasion with that special someone, this extremely personalized service is a unique opportunity to experience dinner in a glorious natural setting.

Our new private bungalows located in the botanical gardens, nestled in the edges of the rainforest, with streams of hot springs running on either side and open on three sides to take in the views of the verdant gardens and forest, provide a unique ambience. Your dinner will be served at a magnificently set table for two, among lit torches, making an unforgettable romantic moment.

Arenal Wet Bar:
One of Tabacón’s signature locations within the property! The Arenal Wet Bar at the main pool offers superb views of the Arenal Volcano. Guests enjoy tropical drinks and cocktails, immersed in the hot springs pool, relaxing or chatting with other guests.

El Palenque Bar:
Located in the tropical gardens of the resort’s amazing hot springs, surrounded by one of the most beautiful rainforests in the whole world, the Tabacón river and an spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano.

Caña Brava Bar:
Experience a great time in our lobby bar, next to the hotel’s front desk. We offer live music every day, delicious snacks, and a plasma TV for those who enjoy sports or any other special shows on television

THE GRAND SPA:
Located in the heart of the thermal springs resort, The Grand Spa at Tabacón offers an extensive variety of invigorating and relaxing treatments and therapies, such as our Volcanic Stone Massage, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Thai Massage, Mud Body Wrap, Body Scrubs, Hydrotherapy, Skin care treatments and our new exclusive therapy at the Temazcal.

Open-air bungalows (VIP rooms) for individual or couple treatments or traditional private rooms – both looking out over the tropical gardens of the Grand Spa area- are available for guests and day-visitors.

 TABACON HOT SPRINGS:

The Tabacón Hot Springs perfectly combine mineral content, volume and temperature. While there are many hot springs destinations around the world, few offer this special balance set in a splendorous natural paradise.
Hot Springs Benefits

Hot springs are considered a natural expression of Earth’s inherent energy. Geologically, Tabacón Resort’s hot springs are 97% rain-based and 3% magma-based. Rainwater enters the earth through fissures on the surface and is then heated by magma found in the earth’s core. Once heated, the waters rise to surface, taking with them minerals found in the earth’s rocky stratus. Thus, the resort’s waters are loaded with minerals. Hot springs provide many benefits stemming from various chemical, physical and biological effects.

  • The chemical effects are related to the minerals and other substances in the water, which are transferred to the skin and bloodstream through osmosis.
  • The physical effects are due in large part to the water temperature, which helps dilate the skin, thus improving oxygen flow in the tissues that are being treated. The heat also encourages the flow of natural sedating substances in the body, encouraging muscle relaxation. Altogether, these effects create of a sense of wellbeing.
  • The biological effects are produced by the hydrothermal flora and fauna, integrating micro and macro organisms in a complex union. This effect is called “biogleas” and is composed of thousand of different species which strengthen the skin’s defense systems, helping it to repair itself from external attacks such as aging.

Our distinctive facilities are comprised of thermo-mineral rivers, running at a soothing temperature range from 27º C to 42º C, flowing through exotic tropical gardens, forming natural waterfalls and river pools.
