Monte Azul was established as a center for art and design where artists and collectors could share in the creative process, alongside travelers seeking a unique vacation experience. Personalized Service: It’s All About You
Your hosts are an Artist turned Art Dealer, born in Costa Rica and raised in San Francisco; a Scientist turned International Marketing Executive turned Contractor, from Indiana; and an International Investment Banker turned Art Collector, from New York.

Along with our personally trained staff selected entirely from our local community, we take our responsibility as hosts seriously, making service a top priority in everything we do. Our ultimate goal is to make you feel as much at home as we do, and leave with unforgettable memories.

What sets Monte Azul apart is the fine art, the spectacular natural setting and the personal attention to every detail. Enjoy elegant rooms featuring original fine art, explore our Private Rainforest Preserve in solitude, discover an unspoiled community, or simply relax and experience nature from your private garden and terrace. Guests may visit the Monte Azul Studios where invited Artists create the works featured throughout the property.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Four exclusive Guest Cottages are nestled on a Private 125 acre Nature Preserve in the Talamanca Mountain Range. The grounds include over one kilometer of riverside along the majestic Chirripó River as well as primary rainforest with its exuberant flora & fauna.

Casa Palo Alto - The Hilltop Villa, also known as Casa Palo Alto, is an exclusive 4,000 square foot villa with expansive views.

Fine Art
Monte Azul is an alternative gallery experience, with each suite and Café Blue curated with original fine art by Costa Rican and International artists. Guests may purchase from the wide range of works, many of which were inspired and created at Monte Azul studios. Through the Artist in Residence Program, guests may have the opportunity to experience part of the creative process directly with the artist.
