ABOUT CAPITAN SUIZO - in their own words:
Imagine yourself in a charming hotel among vivid gardens
and tame jungle, with the Pacific Ocean spilling onto the beach in front of you. As you
lounge by the swimming pool, birds and iguanas keep you company, and a curious monkey
wanders by. The only sounds are the chatter and songs of nature's creatures and the
whispering of waves.
The fantasy is yours to treasure at Hotel Capitán Suizo, bordering the sands of Playa
Tamarindo in northern Costa Rica. Combining efficient, Swiss hostelry with warm
hospitality, the hotel provides the finest of accommodations in an unspoiled, natural
setting.
LOCATION:
Hotel Capitán Suizo rests on Playa Tamarindo, one of the most beautiful Pacific coast
beaches in all of Costa Rica. Directly on the beach, the hotel is surrounded by large,
native trees and lush, colorful gardens.
Playa Tamarindo is 200 miles from San José, 45 miles from the International Airport in
Liberia, and 2 miles from the local airport in Tamarindo. It is one of many beaches in the
northerly province of Guanacaste, which area claims the last tropical-dry forest remaining
on the planet. Even during the rainy or green season, sunshine prevails for up to 8 hours
every day, and for at least 10 hours during the high season.
FACILITIES:
*Exotic, free-form pool
*Boutique
*Laundry Service
RESTAURANT & BAR:
At the open-air restaurant and bar, savory meals and refreshing drinks are served in this
informal, inviting ambiance. Situated underneath a thatched roof, you can revel in the
ocean view and breezes. Or perhaps you'd prefer poolside service as you laze in a leafy
atmosphere, visited by friendly wildlife.
International cuisine (with a Swiss accent) highlights the menu - Tilapia Calabrese for
fish lovers, Beef Stroganoff, unique pastas, and dreamy desserts. The chef keeps in mind
your need for variety, creating new temptations for the tastebuds.
ROOMS & BUNGALOWS:
Right on the beach in Tamarindo, Capitan Suizo consists of 8 thatched-roof bungalows and
22 rooms, each spacious and comfortable, with a patio or balcony. Steps away are the huge
free-form pool and open-air restaurant and bar.
Bungalows and rooms feature a mezzanine bedroom with king-size bed, and sliding doors that
open to a tropical garden. Private bathrooms include enclosed shower and deep bathtub with
window view. Bedroom closets have wicker-mesh to let clothing breathe. Decor of natural
stone floors harmonize with red hardwood trim, offset by sofas of greenish-blue. Halogen
lamps inset in the ceiling provide superior lighting; alternatively, soft-lit lanterns
cast a romantic spell.

conditioning is not needed. Rooms on the first floor have a/c. Each unit is equipped with
a telephone, an FM/AM radio, a safety box and a small refrigerator.
