ABOUT NOMADS OF THE SEAS PHOTOGRAPHY, TREKKING & SOFT OUTDOORS ACTIVITIES - in their own words:

NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY:
We offer our guests an interesting and varied photography (digital or film) program. Guided by an environmental interpreter with a sound knowledge of analogue and digital photography, as well as photographic composition among others, the tour includes an infinite variety of landscape and nature scenes, on land and at sea, as well as sea-shore.

These include windswept glaciers, mountains and volcanoes, bays and inlets, channels and fjords, as well as the coastline's impressive tides, a cool exuberant rainforest, and occasionally native land mammals.

Guests can photograph cetaceans and other marine mammals as well as local birds, the former exclusively in marine areas and the latter in pelagic or forest areas.

Another interesting possibility is photography of local heritage: dozen of small coves and fishing villages along our rate, and archaeological sites some of which still show vestiges of an extinct culture of nomadic seafaring canoeists, the Chonos.

Macro-photography is another extremely interesting option, both for endemic land invertebrates and flowers - among them some unique species of little orchids, as well as over those spectacular details of the forest floor we generally miss.

TREKKING & SOFT OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES:
During the excursion, our guests will experience the magic of trekking down a variety of trails that snake through the overpowering southern jungle, connecting a plethora of endemic flowers, hundred-year old trees, leafy bushes and an endless number of species of ferns, fungi, algae and lichens.

We also offer interesting environmental informational activities in coastal areas with rich biodiversity. Some sites where we make landfall offer the possibility of bathing in a hot spring, or of taking in the sights of majestic glaciers, enormous masses of ancient ice, sliding for centuries towards a plunge into the sea.
