EXPERIENCES AND ADVENTURE IN THE PRESERVE

The Cliffs Preserve has a perfect mix of nature and cultural based activities. Our expert guides with a solid knowledge of this unique eco-system will offer you all the options to make the most of your Chilean experience. We’ll keep you informed each day of the adventures to come, helping you to decide which one perfectly fits your “nature.”

Interpretive Hiking:
Choose between coastal trails, rainforest trails, or a combination of the two. This vast preserve offers a myriad of plants, birds, flora, and scenery. Our network of trails is designed for a variety of ability levels. Although we have full-day and half-day hikes every day, the tempo you and your group decide to keep is entirely up to you.

Horseback Riding:
Travel to the far ends of this wonderful preserve on our accompanied horseback excursions available daily. In each ride you will enjoy the impressive coastline and untouched forests while our guides highlight the unique vegetation and wildlife species of The Cliffs Preserve.

Sea Coast Experience:
Enjoy the majesty and marine diversity of the Pacific Ocean while paddling off the coast of The Cliffs Preserve for a sea-level view of the coastal eco-system. Kayaks and power boats are available for you at the marina, the perfect setting where your adventure begins.

Penguins, Sea Lions and Whale Watching:
The coastline of The Cliffs Preserve offers some truly world-class opportunities to witness the magnificence of the ocean’s creatures. Venture out to visit Penguin colonies, Sea Lion isles, as well as the migratory lanes for the Humpback and Blue Whales.

The Cliffs Preserve’s pristine environment is home to many bird species, some unique to this end of the world. Our naturalists will not only share their enthusiasm for wildlife, but will also help you identify the different species by observation or by listening to their sounds.

The Preserve holds an abundance of natural and stunning landscapes as well as extraordinary native wildlife. From coastal old growth trees to a broadleaf temperate forest, this hotspot of biodiversity will lend you the opportunity to capture many wonders on film.

Organic Farm & Culinary Tours:
From our garden to your plate! Our organic and culinary tours include visits to our greenhouse as well as demonstrations on how local farmers work these fertile grounds. You will have the chance to taste our fresh organic fruits and vegetables right from the garden or you can personally choose the ingredients that our Chef will transform into culinary delights.

 

ACTIVITIES & ADVENTURES OUTSIDE THE PRESERVE

The Cliffs Preserve offers a wonderland of discovery for your entire group. As our guest, you will also have the opportunity to discover the beauty and adventure that surrounds The Cliffs Preserve through guided and informative daily excursions.

Patagonia’s Culture & Heritage Tours:
In this privileged environment you will also have the opportunity to experience other fascinating activities around Patagonia that include lake and volcano visits, historical church visits and architectural and communities tours. These activities will give you the opportunity to learn and discover the unique origins of Chilean history, geology and culture.

Heli-Fishing & Sport Fishing:
There are numerous sport fishing destinations for day-long trips either off-shore or on area rivers where you will be surrounded by a variety of trout including Rainbow, Brook and Brown Trout. Expert guides are eager to instruct novices or assist experts in either fly or spin fishing.

For the more seasoned fishermen, we offer heli-fishing. Expert pilots and guides will take you to lakes and rivers so remote that they are visited only occasionally and only by helicopter. And for the true fly fishing devotee, the Lago Copa Lodge offers overnight accommodations and is perfectly located to access the finest and most varied waters that any angler could dream of.

White Water Rafting:
Take in all the beauty and majesty of the Lakes and Volcanoes region in Chilean Patagonia while whitewater rafting on the Petrohue River. Grade 3-4 rapids await you, along with spectacular views of the Osorno, Puntiagudo and Calbuco Volcanoes. Expert guides will support you at all times on this full day adventure.
