Las Torres Excursions
There are different activities for personal fulfilment for who enjoys sports. Among them there is trekking, horse back riding, vehicle excursions, climbing, also flora and fauna observation, especially birds, with a circuit that explains the existence of each one and their history.A variety of 25 excursions are available every day. There is a maximum of 8 per group. Flexibility and advice of our specialised guides will bring you a totally unforgettable experience.
VEHICLE EXCURSIONS:
Full Paine: (7-10 hrs.)
We visit the main features on the south side of the park, including the major lakes, Glaciar Grey and the Paine Massif, the granite and sedimentary rock towers that give the park its name. We are likely to see the flora and fauna characteristic of the park as well.

This trip is very similar to the Full Paine, with one addition: We stop at Hostería Lago Grey for a trek over the north slope of the Mirador Ferrier, or Ferrier Mountain. We see panoramic views of Glaciar Grey and Glaciar Pingo, as well as the Paine Massif and Andes mountain range.

We visit the places where the indigenous Aónikenk people lived more than 7,000 years ago. We will hike from Lago Sarmiento to a collection of Aónikenk drawings still visible on a rock wall. We are likely to run into many of the types of plants and animals such as guanacos, rheas and condors that populated the land during the Aónikenk epoch and are still alive today.

Mirador Nordenskjöld:
On this three-hour trek we will learn about the plants, mammals and birds living close to the place where the Río Paine enters Lago Nordenskjöld. We will see views of the southern section of Lago Nordenskjöld, as well as Monte Almirante Nieto and the Torres.

We take a vehicle to the Estancia Lazo at the Hostería Mirador del Paine, a ranch about an hour and a half southeast of the park. From the ranch, we can see rivers feed into the Señoret Canal on their way to the Fiordo Ultima Esperanza. We begin trekking toward Lago del Toro, enjoying views of the Paine Massif and several lakes and lagoons in the area. The chances are good of seeing the water birds and condors.

Leaving from Las Torres on foot or horseback, we make our way through Valle Ascencio to Refugio Chileno, about two hours away. From there, we continue our journey through a forest of beech trees. After about an hour, we will reach a moraine, which we will ascend to a view of the three towers, the north face of Monte Almirante Nieto and Cerro Nido de Condor.

We ride the catamaran half-an-hour from Refugio Pudeto to Refugio Pehoe. From there, we walk around Lago Grey to a refugio of the same name. We get a close view of Glaciar Grey, a 26 kilometer-long glacier that is part of one of the largest ice fields in the world.

Catamarán: 1 hourValle del Frances
As in the Mirador Grey excursion, we ride the catamaran from Refugio Pudeto to Refugio Pehoe. We pass Lago Skottsberg, then ascend Valle del Frances, where we will see a good view of Paine Grande, Glaciar Frances and Los Cuernos. We are likely to see avalanches on the snowy mountains above us.

We ride on horseback into the Valle de Ascencio, following the route most rock climbers use to approach the Torres. We leave the horses at Refugio Chileno to trek through lenga forests to Campamento Japones. There, we enter Valle de Silencio and pass over rocky terrain for about six hours. Ultimately, we will see views of Glaciar Oggioni, Cerro Escudo and Cerro Fortaleza.

This excursion is designed for people interested in learning about the ecosystem of the Patagonian lenga forests. As we explore old lenga forests in the land surrounding Las Torres, we look for Magellanic woodpeckers, Austral parakeets and flickers as well as the scat of various members of the cat family, including the puma.

This trek leaves from Las Torres and rounds the west face of the Cerro Paine. From the highest point of the mountain, we enjoy a spectacular view to the south and east. We should be able to see the Torres del Paine and trace the route the rivers take as they descend from mountaintops to the lakes below.

On this intense, Stairmaster-style trek, we scale the steep side of the approximately 2,670-meter/8,760-foot Monte Almirante Nieto, the glacier-capped mountain in the backyard of Las Torres. After about 2.5 hours of climbing, we will reach the Glaciar Nieto on its north face.

HORSE RIDING
Por la Estancia a Caballo:
Designed for people who have not spent much time around horses, this excursion will help you become more familiar with the animals. We will join the gauchos in the corral and stable and learn how to ride correctly on the land surrounding the hostería.

During this full-day excursion, we ride east from the hotel toward the Cerro del Paine, where we will come upon a magnificent view of the Serón Valley. Much of the journey will take us through a beech forest. We ride home along the Río Paine.

EXPEDITIONS
Valle Bader
We begin the expedition with a rich breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Then, we follow a trail along the shores of Lago Nordenskjöld for about 12 km to Refugio Cuernos. We are served a warm dinner in the refugio and spend the night the cozy, A-framed cabins perched on a hillside nearby.
On day two, we enter Valle Bader, one of the least visited but most impressive valleys of the region, situated between Los Cuernos and Monte Almirante Nieto. We wander between the various mountains, including Cuerono Máscara, Cuerno Hoja, and Cuerno Espada, and we appreciate the exposed granite walls that characterize the massif.Valle Francés
On the first day of this three-day excursion, we eat breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Then we walk 12 km east to Refugio Cuernos, where we eat lunch and learn about Monte Almirante Nieto and Lake Nordenskjöld. After a short rest, we continue east to Campamento Italiano, where well find the tents in which we will sleep and eat already pitched. A cook will prepare dinner for us as we sip wine and discuss the next days excursion.
On the second day, we eat breakfast in the dining tent and depart early to photograph the sunrise in the Valle del Frances. We explore the valley all day, making our way to Campamento Britanico and back. We eat dinner again in Campamento Italianos dining tent.
On Day Three, we make the return trip across Lake Pehoe on a catamaran. We see the parks features from further away and learn more general information about the park. We eat dinner in the Las Torres restaurant.
INTERPRETATIVE TRAIL
This trail gives you a glimpse of the biodiversity present in Torres del Paine National Park. In its 2.5 kilometers, you will encounter marshes, forests, streams and lakes, exploring some of the habitats most characteristic of Patagonia. Around 45 species of birds, trees, lichens, fungi and geologic intrusions are among the items you can study during your walk.

SPECIAL INTEREST
Sierra baguales:
We eat breakfast in the lodge, then head by vehicle to Sierra Baguales to walk on an exclusive trail. We learn about the history of the place, including the origin of the name Sierra and the expedition of the regions first tourist, Lady Florence Dixie. Once we arrive at La Estancia Baguales, we walk to a site where we will find and learn about fossils. The excursion lasts about six hours.

Río Paine Medio Día
We begin our half-day kayaking excursion in Río Paine, near Salto Chico and hotel explora. After photographing the Los Cuernos from our exclusive vantage point, we begin our smooth descent of the river, eventually passing under Weber Bridge. Well conclude our trip in Lago Toro, at the national parks administration office.

We meet at Hostería Lago Grey and proceed to Península Grey, where we learn safety procedures. We kayak around Grey Lake, approaching the 26 kilometer-long glacier that is part of one of the largest ice fields in the world.

After testing equipment and reviewing safety procedures at Hostería Lago Grey, we put our kayaks in the water and begin paddling down Río Grey. We eat boxed lunches along the way and finish the trip at the base of operations for Las Torres at Río Serrano.
