Chaa Creek was begun in 1977 and has grown into a 330 acre private nature reserve along the Macul River and the rather simple resort has blossomed into an upscale Resort and Spa.

Chaa Creek has 19 thatched roof bungalows and two luxury suites nestled along the riverside. Each palm-thatched cottage has Mexican tiled floors, large mahogany beds, original artwork and private bathrooms with hot showers. Spacious sundeck verandahs allow guests to view wildlife and interact with nature.

The restaurant features a mixture of Caribbean, Mexican and Belizean dishes served under an enormous umbrella of thatch in our large, airy restaurant with its own temperature controlled wine cellar.

The dining room, bar and cottages are all constructed from local hardwoods and thatched with bay leaf palm.

Although Chaa Creek is the ideal place to relax in beautiful, tranquil surroundings, guests are encouraged to take part in a wide range of daily activities including walking, mountain biking and horseback riding along miles of private reserve trails. Other on-site activities include bird watching, swimming, canoeing, and guided tours of the Natural History Centre, Butterfly Farm, archaeological sites and the nearby Rainforest Medicinal Trail.

And after a day of activities, enjoy the Spa at Chaa Creek, a complete full service spa set atop Buterfly Hill with tranquil but stunning views.

Or if you want a more basic and more intimate forest opportunity can try the Macal River Jungle Camp.
