ABOUT MANSION DANDI ROYAL - in their own words:

Located at San Telmo (Tango’s birthplace), Mansion Dandi Royal is a theme residence unique in its artistic presentation of the Tango ambience, built to the eclectic architectural style and filled with art nouveaux pieces, where all public spaces and its 30 rooms are decorated with murals portraying tango scenes and original objects d’art.

The argentine bourgeoisie high society of the early 1900’s, accustomed to the refinements of the life in Europe, developed the eclecticism, turning away from the traditional Spanish colonial architectural style, with spectacular fronts and small inside patios and an esthetically admirable Art Nouveaux decoration. The construction of the building today known as Mansion Dandi Royal began in those days.

The Mansion is organized around two inside patios with two floors facing the front and four facing the back. The first floor occupied by the Dandi Royal salon, up the marble stairwell, the reception opens and the remaining three hold the bedrooms and the swimming pool, solarium, hair salon, mini-spa.

In the year 2000 Dandi Tango Academy began negotiations to acquire this beautiful residence in order to fulfill director’s, Héctor Villalba, dream of creating something never seen in lodging and Tango teaching for foreign and argentine Tango lovers.

That is how Mansion Dandi Royal – Tango Residential Academy was born, the very first of its kind, where you can live 24 hours a day in a warm, comfortable, sophisticated and original argentine Tango atmosphere.

Artists and bohemians can still be found among San Telmo`s cobble stoned streets and eclectic architecture. Mansion Dandi Royal is close to the main interest spots in Buenos Aires, 10 blocks from the historical Plaza de Mayo, the Cathedral, the Casa Rosada and the Cabildo, 9 blocks from the pedestrian Florida St., 10 blocks from Corrientes Ave. where the most important theatre plays come to scene (the argentine Broadway), 8 blocks from Avenida de Mayo, where Argentina’s most traditional coffee house are located: Café Tortoni and the Academia Nacional del Tango, 5 blocks from the world’s widest avenue 9 de Julio, where the Obelisk and the Colon Theatre are located.

At Mansion Dandi Royal you have the chance to stay in a century-old mansion fully restored to its original period elegance but replete with every modern convenience you could ask for.
