BENVENUTO
To tell you about Locanda, our history, our service, our fine food and our love of wine, I could have sought the help of a professional writer.However, a friend, who happens to be a client, reminded me that only I would have the in-depth knowledge, along with Lilian, my wife, to talk about our secluded and peaceful dream. Only we would have the enthusiasm to describe the place we have built and what we offer to those wanting to visit us
This is what we have done. Journey with me while we begin with Locanda's history.
Locanda - Comfort at the Hills
Our doors are always open to our guests and friends, we always offer the comfort of our services, our swimming pool with dry sauna to enjoy long relaxed days.We are located within a lush and tranquil valley. The pleasant temperature of the region is another factor that makes a difference compared to other places. The six apartments, split into two buildings, are very comfortable, with furnishings that enhance the surrounding natural beauty.
Traditionally, we welcome our guests with a daily tea service at 5PM. Along with a great range of sweets and cakes, juices, hot drinks and breads.
Our Apartments
We have six unique apartments, inspired by the flowers of the valley. Rose, Amarilis, Iris, Peonia, Mimosa and Hydrangea. The six apartments are contained in two buildings.
Three of them have a view of the swimming pool, two of them have a view towards the garden and one has the view to the vegetable garden. The fact that each room has a different view and different decoration helps to get the feeling that every visit to Locanda is a new visit.The hotel is located within two massive rock elevations that provide the feeling of energy and the sensation of tranquility. The bigger rock is right in front of the establishment, giving majesty to the place. The smaller rock, behind, conveys comfort and seclusion.
The rooms with a view of the pool have the Atlantic forest valley as their backdrop.
The Service
Our services are designed to offer maximum comfort to our guests. The rooms are cleaned every morning, while you enjoy your breakfast, to maintain that warm feeling of comfort and privacy.Traditionally, we dry the towels with special dryers, to avoid the typical humidity of this region. During the evenings, while you are having dinner, the house-keepers will prepare the room so that everything will be ready, on the way back, to a peaceful sleep.
All this care and attention is intended to make you feel at home.
We also have a room service that offers a variety of light snacks and drinks. Because of the landscape circumstances of the hotel, we cannot serve full dinner in the rooms.
For your convenience, we have 24 hours self-service in the living room, reading, games, water, coffee, tea, natural juices, are all available free.
Relaxing
Aside of the resting facilities, our hotel offers a fully equipped reading room, swimming pool, a dry sauna, purposively chosen because of the humid region. We also offer a gym, with instrumental music ambiance, for those who miss the treadmill!On Saturdays we provide sessions of shiatsu therapy (upon request and additional cost) that combine perfectly with your feeling of relaxation in the mountains.
The swimming pool is located between the two buildings of our establishment, with a panoramic view to our vegetable garden.Our swimming pool, surrounded by the greenery of the garden, is a place of peace and natural beauty. There is the possibility of serving meals for guests who prefer that sort of more easy-going environment.
With special nocturnal illumination to parties and cocktails, the swimming pool is also a good place to enjoy the tranquillity and the coolness that the woods offer.

The Restaurant Our friends are going to experience in Locanda an Italian gastronomy rarely found elsewhere, regardless of the region. The uniqueness of our offering is the constant change of menu. In the search process of making a typical regional Italian cuisine, we use, mostly, the creativity, to create menus that range from sea food to homemade pasta and rare game. The restaurant's environment is divided into two wide integrated salons. In the first we arrange the tables for smaller groups of people, while the second is made for the larger tables - "table for the friends" - as we call it, where we can accommodate, comfortably, groups from eight to fourteen people. The beautiful terrace is the location where we can taste
appetizers and relax before and after the dinner.This roomy and pleasant place, integrated
to the garden and to the beautiful flora of the region, is directed to our clients and

The Cellar
The cellar was the beginning of everything.
Locanda's History started with this enormous underground creation, this hole of eight meters deep, whose construction was made in massif concrete and tons of iron. After we full filled this hole with four meters of land, we managed to create a perfect environment to preserve wine. Being a lover of wines myself, I couldn't resist having an outstanding cellar. Deep below the land, the cellar stands up to the special cares that wines need.
All along these years, we've managed to keep it with two different controlled temperatures: one for red wines, between 14 and 16 degrees centigrade, and another for white wines, between 8 and 10 degrees. Both are maintained by a level of relative humidity of the air between 60% and 75%.
It is a simple, functional cellar. It is a pleasant place that has a table to welcome quick eventual cocktails for a few people only.
