ABOUT INSOLITO BOUTIQUE HOTEL - in their own words:
Located on the edge of one of the most beautiful beaches in Búzios, Ferradura beach, Insólito Boutique Hotel has sustainable integration with nature and a sophisticated beach proposal, with thematic rooms that immerses one in Brazilian culture, decorated with design objects and landscaping and illumination by Anouk Barcat and Maneco Quinderé.
The spaces have been decorated by the owner, French business woman Emanuelle Meeus de Clermont-Tonnerre, as a token of her passion for Brazil. The rooms contain works of art and books about music, photography, literature, art, nature, history, architecture, fashion and black culture, displaying her cultural concern in the decor.
ACCOMMODATIONS:
Twelve individually designed and styled rooms, each with a theme:
- CASA CULTURA NEGRA
This is the first room whose theme is the Afro-Brazilian culture Candomblé, with a white wooden bench with drawings by Erick Figueira de Mello and night tables of Dutch design and developed by workers from Brazilian low income communities.

Brazilian Bachianas they are a series of nine compositions of Heitor Villa-Lobos written between 1930 and 1945. In the set written for different formations, the conductor fused folk Brazilian material, in special the music from the backwoods, to the forms classic-daily pay in the style of Bach, intending to build a Brazilian version of the Concerts of Brandemburgo. Between the famous passages, they are O Train of the Yokel, the aria Ballad, the choral Corner of the Backwoods and the dance Miudinho.

The painting over tiles by Laura Taves was inspired by Outeiro da Glória and it symbolizes the presence of this technique in sacred Brazilian art. The work also gives reference to Adriana Varejão. The quilt makes the connection of the Portuguese journey to Brazil. The room contains an armchair from Velha Bahia, bench by George Nelson, clover shaped table and chair, both with thin base legs, from the 1950s.

Indigenous feather headdresses appear in embroidered prints on the cushions from the Futton Company.
The room has design objects, such as the bench by George Nelson and arm chair by Juliana Llussa, along with a photo by the ethnologist Claudia Andujar from the Vermelho Gallery.

The room is decorated in homage to Brazilian Art Naïf modern primitive art produced by artists with no formal training, with paintings by artists of this genre. The lighting fixture is by Sergio Cezar and the Ecolog armchair, made from recycled wood are the highlights of the room.

Búzios is a natural reserve of butterflies, with more than 300 sorts, being the commonest to Captain of the Bush - black with wide list in blue - and the Owl - with the figure of an eye in the wings. They adore this room and appear also in the fridge Gisele Nasser for Brastemp.

The Guarani is one of the operas by Antônio Carlos Gomes, a Brazilian composer. In four acts and with the libretto of Antônio Scalvini in Italian, it premiered at the Teatro Scala in Milan, Italy in 1870, becoming a great success. The opera was used as the theme song for the program A Voz do Brasil.

Veranda with whirlpool and sea view- ORFEU DA CONCEICAO
Orfeu da Conceição is a theatrical play written by Vinicius de Moraes in 1954 and is based on the Greek mythological drama, Orpheus and Eurydice, whose musical score was composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim, premiering at the Odeon in 1956. This work inspired the French director and writer, Marcel Camus, to film, in Rio, Orfeu Negro, awarded a Golden Palm in Cannes and an Oscar for best film.

Whirlpool and veranda with sea view- FOTOGRAFIA E LITERATURA
In the year that Sergio Machado filmed Quincas Berro DAgua and Cia das Letras re-released A morte e a morte de Quincas Berro DAgua, by Jorge Amado, Emmanuelle decided to revere the work of this Baiano and Brazilian photography with photos that depict the romance. The images were produced by children from the Mão na Lata group, from the community of Maré, under the guidance of Tatiana Altberg, with handcrafted cameras made of recycled cans. These works were published in print by Nova Fronteira.

Insólito has a Wellness Center with responsible professionals whose services include: body and facial treatments, Insólito (extraordinary) moments, massages and Indian rituals to guarantee relaxation by the sea. The integration between the Wellness Center areas and nature guarantees that extra sense of pleasure for the guests.LEISURE
Insólito has two boats available for use by guests:
- The Rush boat - 30 feet, capacity 8 people - is ideal for tours around the principle beaches in Búzios, where guests can also take part in fishing or picnics.
- The other boat, Dragos 19 feet, capacity 4 people is used more for water-skiing, wakeboarding and bóia-cross which is a variation of water-skiing.
In the social area, Insólito has a sweet water pool, a salt water pool, a dry sauna, a steam sauna, Jacuzzi and Ofurô.
There are also three bicycles which are available for use by the guests.
DESIGN
Emanuelle Meeus de Clermont-Tonnerre has been an art curator of decoration at Insólito, which is shown in the exposition of design objects - in its majority, Brazilian in the rooms and in the common areas of the hotel, like the living room with a Pigmento Ovo table and the wonderful rustic wooden sofas by Elma Chavez.
One of the peculiarities is the recycled rubber carpets by Cecília Machado, made in cooperation with the inmates of Muzambinho and Nova Resende.
Other objects that stand-out are the photos by Claudia Andujar, stickers by André Diniz and the young Brazilian designer Juliana Llussa.GASTRONOMY
At Insólito restaurant, Brazilian products gain flavor and a French touch from chef Rocha, who has worked at 66 Bistro and Zozô (Rio), Trapiche Adelaide (Salvador) and La Palette (Campinas). This French-Brazilian cuisine focuses mainly on seafood and is open to the public, when reserved in advance.
The restaurant has a large fresco painting by Dominique Jardy, inspired by Iemanjá, and the guests are welcomed by individual maítres at the table small fish in bottles, who suggest the dish of the day.
