1. What is the average age range aboard? Nationalities?

Our passengers on a typical voyage range from their 30s to their 80s – with a majority from 30-75. Our expeditions attract independent-minded travelers from around the world. They are characterized by a strong interest in exploring remote regions. The camaraderie and spirit that develops aboard is an important part of the expedition experience. All our voyages have a wide variety of nationalities abroad.

2. Do you accept children on board?

The administration of "Antarctic Shipping S.A." company, advise adult passengers who travel with minor that is not advisable that these have less than 14 years old. And if a passenger insists or decides to travel accompanied of minor of 14 years old, it will have to take full responsibility of the security and behavior of the minor.

3. How many expedition staff will be on board?

We do have 3 expedition staff on board and 43 crew members.

4. What is the coldest it will get on my voyage?

In general the coldest temperature that we have encountered on the Peninsula is at freezing 320 F (00C). With wind and weather conditions, it can seem colder.

5. Will the actual itinerary be exactly as shown in the brochure?

The itinerary as described in the brochure, as well as the final itinerary is meant as a guide only. During the voyage, we often discover new landing places not originally announced. Our program is very much subject to a number of factors, including the vagaries of weather and ice. The actual/final itinerary will be determined by the Captain and the Expedition Leader – both of whom have extensive expertise in this area.

6. Do we know what ice conditions we will encounter?

Not exactly, ice conditions change markedly from year to year. For that matter, these conditions change from day to day and hour to hour since ice moves with the weather, wind and tides. We rely on the experience of our Captain, ice charts and general distribution patterns as our guidelines.

7. How is the food? Do you cater to vegetarians? What if I have special diet needs, will they be able to be met?

The food is excellent. In fact, all our travelers give the highest of grades on the food provided. The galley is staffed by experienced international chefs and the provisions are brought from around the world. Breakfast is served buffet-style with table service and a choice of main course from the menu at lunch. Dinner it will be served at the dinner room with an excellent selection of typical food. There is also a range of beverages available. We are able to meet most special dietary requests, as long as we are advised of this information far in advance of your voyage.

8. What is there to do on board?

A daily schedule is prepared on board which lists all daily activities, lectures and films that will be available. During the days at sea, our staff will present a comprehensive lecture series. One of the most popular areas to gather is the Navigation Bridge, which is open to passengers at most times. It is quite fascinating to experience the ship negotiating ice-filled waterways, and watch for birds and wildlife under the guidance of our knowledgeable lectures and staff. In addition, the ship have a lounge area. The ship do not carry entertaining – and many passengers prefer to spend the time after dinner on deck, in the bar, lounge or just relaxing in their cabins.

9. Can I recharge my batteries and use electrical appliances while on board? How about a laptop?

Yes, the power supply is 220 / 110 volts. The electrical socket outlets accommodate two thick round pins, similar to standard European plugs. You may need an international adapter and transformer / converter for your particular equipment. As long as you bring the correct adapters needed you will have no problem using your laptop. However, internet access is not available.
