ABOUT AWASI - in their own words:

THE HOTEL
We are not the traditional kind of hotel. Our aim is to provide memorable experiences through our lodgings, our gastronomy and our outings. In short, our purpose is to host our guests with surprising touches.

Our house is located within the town of San Pedro de Atacama, a few blocks away from the town square, the old church and the Museum. This lets our guests comfortably enjoy the "town life" and see what life used to be like and still is in the millennial Atacama oasis.

Awasi was built with the privacy and confort of our guests in mind, but respecting the natural surroundings, the environment, the culture and the local building style. Thus, the basic materials used in building Awasi are resources that are common in the zone and have been used in Atacama for thousands of years: adobe, stone and wood.

We have several spaces or "small living rooms" which make it possible for each guest to have a comforable private space where they may dine or enjoy a drink prepared in our bar.

For the decor we have used elements of the local culture (textiles, ceramics, pottery, etc).

The hotel traffic areas were designed with regard to the trees (vetch, thorntree, etc) existent in the premises. The hotel has a swimming pool, but not a lifeguard service.

COTTAGES & ACCOMMODATIONS
In order to assure the comfort and privacy of those who visit us, we have only 8 cottages, all of them built out of stone, mud brick and wood.  Each has generous spaces, a private patio, a reading armchair and a solarium. Thatch roofs cover circular spaces designed with special care on every detail.  Wooden floors, sheets of the finest linen and alpaca blankets. Spacious bathrooms open onto private sun terraces with outdoor showers.  Unique, harmonious spaces designed for relaxation and rest.

Terraces amid wild trees decorate the paths with a peculiar green. During daytime, the shade of thatch roofs lets in a warm morning light. At night, dim lanterns praise the beauty of the Atacama skies.

Accommodations include:

The round shaped suites are located in the common areas near the bar, restaurant and pool.

• Premium Circular Suite
  It’s our largest suite in the hotel. It is round shaped, has 700sq.ft, King Size bed, a tub & shower and a private patio with an outdoor shower.  
• Superior Circular Suites
  Round shaped, has 670 sq.ft., King Size bed, a tub & shower and a private patio with outdoor shower.
• Circular Suites
  Round shaped, 430 sq.ft., Queen Size bed , shower and a private patio with outdoor shower.

The Rectangular Suites are located on the other side of the street near the reception (less than one minute walk).

• Rectangular Suites
  Rectangular shaped, has at least 600 sq.ft King Size bed, shower & tub with a private patio with outdoor shower.

CUISINE
Our Chef has designed a varied eating menu which by using ingredients that are exclusive to this zone (such as purple potatoes, patasca, quinoa, chanar, etc) and which for thousands of years have been part of the diet of the native people, will let you discover and enjoy new aromas and flavors.

We've also designed our Wine List based on a selection of best Chilean wines.
