Sand bays, cliffs and ancient rock formations give place to the beautiful beaches of Puerto Piramides where Las Restingas Hotel de Mar is located. Declared a World Heritage site by the UNESCO in 1999, Peninsula Valdes receives the southern right whale year after year and invites you to meet an extraordinary nature experience, lodged in an unforgettable hotel.

From the Spa, the restaurant and the rooms you have a view to the see and, of course, of the whales .

Here in Puerto Piramides is the only spot in the country for whale sighting boats.

Weather :
The principal characteristics of the patagonic weather are the short falls and springs and long winters and summers. Temperature fluctuates in the summer and winter with high and low grades and it is also very changing between day and night, but usually there are not extreme temperatures.

Clothing: Items to take into account when packing:

• For the summer; light clothes, swimsuit, sun glasses, sun block, right shoes for long walks, a light jacket for the night.
• For winter; an important warm coat or jacket, polar sweatshirts, thermic shirts, good shoes for walking, warm socks, gloves, scarf and woolen hats. 

ACTIVITIES
At the patagonic coast, the beaches create a quiet bay, protected by cliffs. Here, it is possible to find a good amount of fossils from up to nine million years old. It is the ideal place to stay and travel across the Peninsula de Valdes, that, together with the gulfs and sea, conforms one of the most important sistems of the patagonic coast, with rich flora and fauna. The UNESCO considered this area Humanity Heritage, as a way to protect it.

• Whale Sightseeing
  Between the months of May and December, houndreds of whales arrive to this quiet zone to reproduce and breed their young, giving us a spectacular show, unique, thanks to the whale calfs (wich are 5 meters long at the moment they are born), playing next to their mother, and getting close to them on authorized boats. It is also possible to enjoy the meeting between dolphins during the summer.
• Divnig
  This traditinal activity is very important and outstanding for tourism in this area of transparent water and natural and artificial parks (sunken ships). Join the experts to enjoy night diving, deep diving, underwater baptisms; take courses for different level and special tours for divers with brevet.
• Mountain Bike
  Mixing tableland and sea, different amazing circuits appear to practise this activity.
• Fishing
  The gulf is a very rich zone with different species, good fishing beaches and diverse landscape. Expert guides offer the service for enthusiastic fishers.
• Sandboard
  For people who are lovers of the extreme, the area has sand hills with the necesary slopes to practise sandboard. This sport has experts in the zone, who get together for slalom and freestyle tournaments. It is possible to purchase or rent the equipment in the town.
• Horse-back Riding
  For nature lovers, this option turns tu be an unforgettable experience. Enjoy a unique landscape in harmony with nature.
