The Trout
We find a wide range of trout species in this Patagonian region: Rainbow trout
(Oncorhynchus mykiss), Brown Trout (Salmo trutta), Brook Trout (Salvelinus fontinalis),
and Landlocked Salmon (Salmo Salar Sebago), which were introduced at the beginning of the
century and are found in a unique wild state nowadays. They all stand out for their beauty
and fierceness. |
Daily Program
Waking up in the morning you will be greeted by the sight of the snow-capped peaks
reflecting on the waters of Lacar Lake. A big breakfast with fresh baked bread, natural
jam made from local fruits, juices, a strong Italian coffee and a delicious iced tea will
make you start your day in the best way. After breakfast, we will set out our journey by
4-wheel-drive vehicles, two fishermen per vehicle driving to the fishing area previously
selected to fulfil the anglers' demands, depending on the season and the best conditions
at that moment.
After fishing all morning, an assistant will be waiting on the banks of the river or lake
at midday, with a top-level shore lunch and a unique variety of refreshments, beers and
wine.
Later, if so desired, you can rest on cots before the afternoon and evening fishing
session
When we return to the lodge, you will be able to shower and get ready to enjoy the
incredible dinner prepared by our chefs in the Arrayán Club House, where you will be
delighted to taste the most delicious food of the region, served with the best wines of
Argentina. |
Fishing Tackle
The number of the rod depends on the size of the river, the conditions of each spot, and,
of course, your personal tastes. This region offers a finer fishing and good weather
conditions. To fish small brooks and medium-sized rivers the best average rod ranges from
#3 with floating line to #6, with floating line, Shooting IV or a Teeny Line.

Below follows a
brief description of the Ten Rivers chosen so that you have the necessary information
about the Argentine Patagonia and your stay at the lodge, characteristics, species,
seasons and fishing techniques.
Chimehuín
You'll discover a lot nice trout under each branches of willow trees obtaining unbealible
surprices. These medium waters offer you the possibility of catch nice brown and rainbow
trout with light fly rods. The world famous Chimehuín have a unique morfology for a trout
river. You can enjoy a all day dry fly on a drift boat or looking forward big trout in
"La Boca", place where the river is born in the Huechulafquen Lake. In middle
January is possible to found hatches of a particular kind of big may fly, similar to
"hexagenya" and catch the most nice trophies.
Malleo
Here you can enjoy the true escence of fly fishing. Its features do possible to use light

Escondido
After an adventure 4 x 4 road you will find this dreamy and dashing place. This small lake

Espejo

sunny days like uin others Patagonia lakes you will be able to enjoy the dry fly fishing
with addult dragon flies.
Filo Hua-Hum
Banks fulled of reeds give great hide to trophy brownies which live here looking for
dragon nymphs and little fishes. On a boat sailing close to de reeds you will be able to

Queñi
