ABOUT Laras de Chacras - in their own words:

In Chacras de Coria there is a unique feeling; a strange combination of nature and familiarity, of art and culture and of the typical scenery... a true land of contrast.

This picturesque villa is only 15 km away from the capital city of Mendoza, a meeting point for the wine routes and the most original gastronomic offers. It is renowned for its particular microclimate and seduces with its cool air, the green colours, the mountains and vineyards.

Its name takes us back to the first ranch settled in the area, whose owner – Don Bohorquez de Coria – established the first ranches. Since then, the locals baptized this area as "las Chacras de Coria" or "Coria´s ranches".

This country style house reflects the art of combining Andean stone with typical desert wood, bringing out a natural, simple and modern look.

The minute any guest walks in, they know they are in a land of wines. You can see an original window on the floor, showing the view of a wine cellar covered in stone and logs. The perfect atmosphere for tasting the best wines from Mendoza.

There are wide logs in every room, showing good taste in the country décor and warmth in the Southern style construction; a style that inspired the architect of Lares de Chacras.

The natural environment is seen through all windows and doors, a typical view for Chacras de Coria, the galleries, the park, swimming pool and hot tub, solarium and a “quincho”, a covered area very common for barbecues and special clay ovens, always available for guests who love out-door life.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Lares de Chacras has comfortable rooms for our guests to enjoy and feel at home. It is the best part of the house that combines country style and the services the guests need. All rooms are decorated with tasteful details and are flexible in a way that they can be prepared as single, double, triple and even quadruple rooms. The maximum number of people for the house is of 25.

The rooms on the ground floor all have sliding glass doors that face the garden and balconies for the top floor rooms. All floors are wooden, also the interior doors. The double rooms have 1.80 x 2 mts beds to assure a pleasant rest and in the morning you can enjoy the fresh air and nature of Chacras.

Regarding services, we offer wireless internet, air conditioning, central heating, safety deposit boxes, cable TV and telephones (Direct dialling).

In the private bathrooms of each room, special or classic rooms, Lares de Chacras offers Jacuzzis or bathtubs. You will also find an amenity kit and and you can ask for hair dryers.

OTHER FACILITIES:

Living Room:
As a symbol of the architectural work of Horacio Bresca, what stands out is the living room built on stone brought from the mountain of Mendoza and where the guests can enjoy the comfortable sofas, read Wine Spectator, books from Mendoza or maps for planning tours. In winter, a nice thing to do is to ask for the barbeque to be made on the fireplace and enjoy the aroma and the warmth provided by its slow cooking.

Swimming pool and Jacuzzi:
The swimming pool is about 5x9 mts, with a maximum depth of 1,80 mts and surrounded by a peripheral gate. On one side of the pool there is a Jacuzzi with a capacity for 6 people, with water propulsion and bubbles that give you a pleasant relax after a day of touring. Both of them can have the temperature conditioned to the preference of the guests.

Massages and Manicures (soon):
We outsource these services. Our collaborators offer alternatives the guests can choose from. These services can be taken in a closed room we have outside, with a view to the garden or the pool, or can be taken in your own room.

Gastronomy:
Lares is placed in the middle of the gastronomic area in Chacras de Coria, which guarantees a variety of restaurants, for all kinds of tastes. Nevertheless, the hotel has implemented a food service that compliments the offer Chacras de Coria has, for example, empanadas and red wine from Finca El Reposo, tomatoes with our own extra virgin olive oil “Vita Mediterránea” made with olives from our farm, and weekend specials.

Outside there is a “quincho” for 25 people, a typical Argentine barbeque area, a straw roofed hut made out of wooden trunks, where you can enjoy an “asado” – Argentine barbeque or pork cooked in brick ovens, for which you must reserve beforehand.

Store:
We have a mini store where you can buy wines, olive oil, homemade jams, Gourmet products “De Mi Campo”, Lares de Chacras merchandising, etc.

Wine Cellar:
The minute the guest walks in, it is obvious he is in a land of wines. An original window stands out on the floor, allowing a view of the subterranean wine cellar, covered in stone and wooden trunks.The atmosphere is perfect to allow yourself to be seduced and for tasting the best wines of Mendoza. This space holds the mysticism of wine; celebrates the pleasure kept in each bottle, each time a bottle is uncorked and every time a toast is shared.

We offer a wide variety of wines, accompanied by delicious dishes from Mendoza.

ACTIVITIES AND THINGS TO DO:

Field Tour:
Lares de Chacras has a field, 55 km north of Chacras de Coria, cultivated with grapes in the torrontes and syrah varieties, olive trees in the arbequina, Arauco and grantoio varieties and D’agen plum trees.
When you visit the field, there will be a barbeque for you to eat under the shade of the poplars, placed in the middle of the vineyard and if you want you can ride on of our horses or take a ride on the tractor. Close to the field is an oil factory, where we make extra virgin olive oil “Vita Mediterránea” that the guests can enjoy with the salads at Lares or in their homes.

Adventure Tours, Wine Tours:
Lares is 30 km from the mountain area where you can carry out adventure tours such as Kayak, Rafting, Canopo among other activities, you can find the Hotel Termas de Cacheuta, hot springs, that offers Spa products and activities.

The Wine tours can be combined with two collaborators for Lares de Chacras. Just a few kilometres away from Lares you can find many wineries, such as: Altavista, Luigi Bosca, Cavas de Weinert, Finca La Amalia, Nieto Senetiner, Viniterra, Dominio del Plata, Terrazas de los Andes, Catena Zapata, Trivento, Flichman, Palo Alto.

Golf:
At about 7 km from Lares, there is an important golf field “La Vacherie”, Edy can accompany any of the guests and even challenge them to play 18 holes. His wife, Gabriela, prepares delicious “milanesa” sandwiches which are offered during the game.

Tennis:
George, Horacio and/or Edy can join you for an afternoon of tennis at the Oasis Club. If you want, you can combine a match, all you have to do is bring your racket to avoid excuses later.

Cycling:
The guests can use the bicycles without having to pay additional charge, they can visit Chacras de Coria and see the town square, the Perpetuo Socorro Parish, the streets lined with trees, the tennis club, the Altavista Winery, among other places. In case the guest wants to make a longer circuit ride, we have a collaborator that offers various alternatives and the equipment necessary to guarantee safety.
